By this time, we are already aware of girlfriend scams, wherein a fake profile and a false person poses as our virtual girlfriend and tries to exact monetary favors from us. If we are foolish enough we will grant them their wishes and when we realize that we are being scammed, we end up being heartbroken and embarrassed.

Careful people can do a reference search for these names in the concerned companies. So, it is better to stay self employed to avoid complications. Once the trust is gained and you can think of nothing else than your online girlfriend, the real story starts. She starts having a burning desire to meet you but a sudden financial crisis stops her from doing so. Then you are made to feel that as a dedicated lover you should make the arrangements for her travel. This is the most common trap laid in the girlfriend scams. 

When the pictures actually look very sexy and gorgeous and you do not stop raving about her beauty, chances are highly probably that you could be talking to a grandma or a woman in her seventies. Emails, online calls or phone calls should not be relied upon as well. Video calls should always be stressed upon by you, exactly the way she professes her love for you. To avoid girlfriend scams, never indulge in one way conversations where she will keep on asking questions about you but will not share anything about herself. The emotional upheavals are used to manipulate as the so called girlfriends even go to the extent of asking your confidential and personal details. They ask the bank account numbers and PIN numbers even. For being on the safe side, it is always better to keep a record of all the online conversations as it could be useful later.
