Many of us can't think of a world without Internet. Working, shopping, booking tickets, money transfers, connecting with friends and families etc.. are all achieved through a single click. Internet has not even spared the children. The kids today are born with Tablets, Smart phones, social media. This makes not only us but also children vulnerable to the Internet fraud. No one, is immune from the online scams and frauds however intelligent or smart the person might. Hence it is essential to be updated on the scam that are floating around and share with others about the scams that the floating around. It is important that we spot the trap, before we fall into one.

It is important for the victim to realize that Internet fraud is the same as any other crime and fraud reporting is important. That are several organizations out there which would be ready to help you anytime, whether you are victim or you just need more information. There are several kind of scammers. They pretend like they are some high ranking government official, a computer technician or online love interest. Whoever the person is the ultimate objective of the person is to convince the person and extract money from them. Fraud reporting should be immediately done if you suspect any of the activities on the Internet. This also helps others in learning from the victim's experiences.

The most vulnerable ways in which our private information or financial data is obtained is through phishing. This is the way in which the Cyber criminals try to trick you and get personal details like bank account log in information or any other input that is valuable to them. This is mostly done through emails or social networking sites. They would send you a link and ask to click on it. On clicking you might find the page similar to your bank's site or a shopping site but at the back end this would be controlled by the cyber criminal. They would ask you to log in with credentials and once done they hack your real account. Fraud reporting on time in these cases alerts the authorities who might be able to get you justice through arresting the person.

In most of these mails there would be a sense of urgency denoting the importance of immediate action. Even if you have a slight doubt about the authenticity of the email, it is best to contact the bank officials before proceeding further.  Fraud reporting though optional should not be ignored just because you are shy or ashamed to report the issue. There are also several ways to stop receiving spam mails in your account. Bringing the spam mails to the notice of the Cyber crime cell is another way of fraud reporting. The online scams have increased over the years and not bringing them to the notice of the concerned authorities have only proved beneficial for the Cyber hackers. Some crimes are so well organized and convincing that it is difficult to catch the person behind it. Staying informed about the latest scams is possible only when they are reported.
