The Nigerian 419
is one of the most common and notorious #scams on the #internet. In this type
of #online #fraud, users will suddenly receive a mail in the inbox that would
declare them as the sole beneficiaries of a recently deceased Nigerian
philanthropist. The recipient here, allegedly stands to receive over a million
dollars even if he was in no way connected to the person. This in itself should
set off alarm bells but many people blinded by the money on offer, just fall
prey to the money scam without thinking twice. They end up spending hundreds of
dollars in what is called ‘processing fees’ and realize too late that the whole
